Search by industry/ sector

To help you find the kind of jobs you're looking for, allindiajobbank.com has divided jobs into industry categories. On the home page you can click on the category that best describes your type of work, the industry you work in or the one in which you would like to work. You will be presented with a search page specifically for that industry. If you can't see an industry category that offers what you're looking for, you may choose to search by location or to use our advanced search.

If you are in a hurry, or want to search for something specific, the quick search lets you search across all industry categories by using keywords or boolean strings and by specifying a location to narrow down your search.

Search by location

If you are motivated by where a job is rather than what industry it is in, you can use our location search. You can enter a location either by postcode or by name . The name can be that of a region such as Yorkshire, a city or town such as Liverpool or Wendover.

You the type of job you are after, be it permanent, temporary, etc. and finally you can add any keywords that describe the role you are looking for.

When you click on the "GO" button, our system will make sure it recognises the location you entered and will offer you choices either if it finds more than one location with that name or does not recognise it. Once this is done you are shown the results for your search.

IT skill search

The IT skill search allows you to specify as much information as our website permits, when searching for a job. You can select a location in the same manner as the location search (above), choose an industry category and select the type of job you want. You can include keywords in your search and also type any words you want to appear in your job results. This function is helpful for keywords that are often associated with roles that may not be what you are looking for.

When you are happy with the criteria you have specified in your advanced search, simply click on the 'GO' button and you will be shown the results for your search.

Keyword searching

Keyword searching means you can search for a specific word or string of words among the jobs we have. This is useful when you have a specific job title or skill you are looking for. The best words to use as search terms are those that usually only appear in the title or description of the jobs you are looking for. If your line of work requires a particular qualification or skill, using terms like ASP, HGV or ACA can quickly find relevant jobs. Please note that common words such as 'it', 'the', and 'of' cannot be used for searching.

Browse jobs

If you prefer to browse through our list of jobs you can do so. You can browse by location, by industry or by job role. Simply click on the 'Browse jobs' link in the navigation and make your selection. If, for example, you choose to browse by location you are shown a list of broad UK regions to look in. When you make a selection you are shown all jobs within that location. You are also shown a list of industry sectors. If you select one of these options you are shown a smaller set of results being jobs within both the location AND the industry you have selected.

If you choose to browse by job role you are shown an extensive list of roles which you can navigate through alphabetically. Simply click on the letter of the alphabet that you want and you will be shown a list of all the job roles we have that start with that letter. Click on a job role and you are shown all jobs we have for that role. You are also shown a list or broad locations which, if you select one, will show you all jobs we have within both the job role AND the location you have selected

In partnership with learndirect, allindiajobbank.com brings you over 800 regularly updated job profiles, which can give you valuable information about your chosen career. Click on the job group that most closely matches what you want to do. You will then see a list of job titles for that job group. Select the one you are interested in to view the learndirect profile.

Alternatively you can enter the job title for a job you are interested in, in the keyword search. Once you click on the search button you will be shown all job titles that match your search. To view a profile, simply click on the job title for the one you want.
